How this site is built.

I build products for a living. This site is one of them — designed and built with the same care I'd bring to any product I own.

Design

The design system follows a Confident Warmth direction — polished enough for a senior executive, warm enough for a practitioner who genuinely cares about the people they work with.

Typography: Space Grotesk for display, Inter for body, JetBrains Mono for code and metadata.

Colors: Electric (#6C5CE7) as the primary accent. Coral, Mint, Sky, and Crimson appear where they carry semantic meaning — tied to the four positioning pillars (Transformation, Teams, Product & Technology, Growth) and their signature marks (∆ ⌘ ∞ ✦). The ⋈ bowtie sits outside the four — it's the personal brand mark, rendered with the four-colour gradient.

Every gray on this site carries a slight violet undertone. It's what makes the palette feel warm rather than generic.

Tech stack

  • Framework: Astro — static-first, islands architecture, markdown-native
  • Styling: Tailwind CSS v4 with custom design tokens
  • Content: MDX for blog posts
  • Hosting: Cloudflare Pages
  • Database: Cloudflare D1 (gated content access log)
  • Email: Resend (transactional)
  • Forms: Cloudflare Turnstile (captcha)
  • Analytics: GA4 + PostHog (abstracted for provider swapping)
  • Motion: CSS transitions + Intersection Observer. Six reusable patterns, all respecting prefers-reduced-motion.

Principles

  1. Content breathes. Generous whitespace. Don't fill space because it's there.
  2. Motion reinforces, doesn't decorate. If removing an animation changes nothing about comprehension, it's cut.
  3. Give first, gate second. Public content is useful. Gated content is the natural next step.
  4. No newsletter pressure. No pop-ups, no "subscribe to my weekly."
  5. Accessibility. WCAG AA minimum. Color is never the only differentiator.
